litanies of humility

In times of reconciliation with ourselves, in the search for that inner peace that we all need at some point, the litanies of humility play a very important role. Its origin dates back to the 7th century and these in turn multiplied in different Catholic churches. They were supplications discussed between the priests and the faithful and they were prayed especially in the processions, the meaning of it in Greek is prayer.

The most popular among them is the Lauretan litany, which is called in this way by the constitution of the supreme pontiffs, Sixtus V, Clement VII, it is made up of a series of invocations to Mary, titles of honor that the holy fathers gave her mainly in the unique and reserved dignity of Mary mother of God.

After having invoked the three divine persons, we proceed to invoke them together, under the name of Angustia Trinidad. The Church puts this invocation on our lips to remind us of the ineffable Mystery of the litany of the Blessed Virgin of Trinity, in the litanies of the Barranquilla carnival, the verses and intonation of Catholic prayer with which they satirize, air, criticize and make fun of of themes and characters of the local, national and even international news of the celebration.

In the Marianist Litanies, spirituality is inspired by the charism since these are governed by the general lines and that of the saints.

Litanies of the Holy Rosary

We beg you to fulfill, Lord our God, enjoy constant health of body and soul, and through the glorious intercession of our mother the Virgin Mary, find us in peace from the sadness of present life and enjoy eternal happiness.

Its importance lies in the initial invocations since they are not addressed to Our Lady, but to our Lord Jesus Christ and to the Holy Trinity, Lord have mercy on us, Jesus Christ hear us because everything in Our Lady leads us to her divine Son and, through him , to the Holy Trinity that is our supreme end. The Blessed Virgin Mary is the best way to reach God.

The structure of them are verses that generally rhyme, the soloist reads the verses that he has consigned in a book and around him the choir will be located, who answers responsibly, these are prayers and choirs, in it the clarity and tonality with which they are they recite the verses.

It is always important that we take care of ourselves in a way that is healthy, it is good when our work is given recognition and is valued, the spiritual point because we should not fill that admiration as an aspect of personal identity, but we should accept all the benefits of our labors in praise of Christ, who emptied himself for our sake, who suffered for us, who died on the cross for us, and for whom in service to him we do our labors. As for me, God forbid me from glorying if he is not in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ… (Galatians 6:)

Humility is not above others, it is a value that can spread among women and men, understanding each time that it is not false modesty, it is not synonymous with poverty, it is simply accepting ourselves as we are with our defects and abilities to do well and not harm others, leaving aside worrying about oneself to help others and in this way releases a little pride for internal healing.

The trick of the arrogant is to magnify what is his and minimize what is the other, a arrogant person does not accept criticism, he knows everything, he does not need to ask, he does not make mistakes, he does not know how to love, he does not see anything wrong in him, it is through humility that he can combat pride for a complete healing.

Prayer of the Spanish Cardinal Merry del Val, the litanies of humility

Prayers requesting humility are considerably dangerous, because God usually grants what is asked for, and often the path of humility is to come to humiliation.

Jesus meek and humble of heart, hear me.

From the desire to be flattered, deliver me Jesus

From the desire to be praised, deliver me Jesus

From the desire to be honored, deliver me Jesus

From the desire to be applauded, deliver me Jesus

From the desire to be preferred to others, deliver me Jesus

From the desire to be consulted, deliver me Jesus

From the desire to be accepted, deliver me Jesus

From the fear of being humiliated, deliver me Jesus

From the fear of being despised, deliver me Jesus

From the fear of being rebuked, deliver me Jesus

From the fear of being slandered, deliver me Jesus

From the fear of being forgotten, deliver me Jesus

From the fear of being ridiculed, deliver me Jesus

From the fear of being insulted, deliver me Jesus

From the fear of being judged with malice, deliver me Jesus

Let others be more esteemed than me. Jesus give me the grace to desire it

Let others grow up in the opinion of the world and I eclipse myself. Jesus give me the grace to desire it

May others be praised and I be ignored. Jesus give me the grace to desire it

Let others be employed in positions and I be judged useless. Jesus give me the grace to desire it

May others be preferred to me in everything. Jesus give me the grace to desire it

May others be holier than me, provided I am as holy as I can be. Jesus give me the grace to desire it.

Prayer

Oh Jesus who, being God, you have humbled yourself to death, and your death was on the cross, to be an example to follow which is confused with pride and love itself. Give us the grace to learn and follow your example, in which you humbled yourself as befits misfortune on earth, and we can see each other until I enjoy your presence in heaven for all eternity.
