Luke 1:26-38

Luke 1:39-45

Third Joyful Mystery: The Birth of the Son of God in Bethlehem Lk 2, 1-7

“At that time a decree of the Emperor Augustus appeared, ordering a census to be taken throughout the world. This first census took place when Quirinus ruled Syria. And each one was going to register in the city of his origin. Joseph, who belonged to the family of David, left Nazareth, a city in Galilee, and went to Bethlehem in Judea, the city of David, to register with Mary, his wife, who was pregnant.

While they were in Bethlehem, the time came for her to be a mother; and Mary gave birth to her firstborn Son, wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.”

Luke 2:1-7

Luke 2:22-28

“Now, my God, you can let me die in peace. You already kept your promise! With my own eyes I have seen the Savior, whom you sent and whom all peoples will see. He will be a light that enlightens all nations, and he will be the honor of your people Israel.”

Fifth Joyful Mystery: The Lost Child Found in the Temple

The last of the Joyful Mysteries is the one that refers to when Jesus went missing and after 3 days his parents find him in the temple, the biblical quote says as follows:

“The child grew and grew strong, full of wisdom, and the grace of God was with him. Jesus among the doctors of the Law. His parents went to Jerusalem every year at the Passover festival. When the boy was twelve years old, they went up as usual, and when the party was over, Mary and Joseph returned, but Jesus remained in Jerusalem without their realizing it.

Believing that he was in the caravan, they walked for a whole day and then began looking for him among relatives and acquaintances. Since they did not find him, they returned to Jerusalem in search of him. On the third day, they found him in the Temple in the midst of the doctors of the Law, listening to them and asking them questions.

And all who heard him were amazed at his intelligence and his answers. Seeing him, his parents were amazed and his mother said to him: “My son, why have you done this to us? Think that your father and I were looking for you in anguish”. Jesus answered them: “Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must attend to my Father’s business?” They did not understand what he was telling them.”

Luke 2:40-52

These biblical verses tell us that every year Jesus and his parents went to Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover festivities, so when the festival ended, having already walked 1 day and a half, they began to look for Jesus among their acquaintances and relatives and they did not Having found him, they returned to Jerusalem and having arrived on the 3rd day, they found him sitting in the temple of God talking with the doctors and teachers of the law.

The Sorrowful Mysteries
