Put the other cheek if you get hit without deserving it

Surely you have heard this topic on other occasions, and that is why with the help of this article you will be able to know all the most relevant details about Put the Other Cheek.

Turn the Other Cheek Verse

On different occasions, well-intentioned Christians have been heard advising those who are going through difficult times by saying things like “This is the cross you must bear”, or “Jesus told us that we would suffer”, or perhaps something like “you have than deny yourself.” Likewise, some take the time to quote Jesus’ teaching in Matthew 5:39, taking it as a correct response to what he has hurt us.

Likewise, sometimes such well-intentioned people assure us that it makes it so much better to stay in unhealthy relationships just because isn’t that what Christ would do? He was crucified. Aren’t we supposed to follow each other? your steps?

But, recognizing that if you get hit with one cheek, put the other and fail us, does it mean that we really have to put up with unfavorable moments and relationships, no matter what happens? Is it right to stay in relationships that keep us damaged only because we must deny ourselves?

To make you think a little about if you get slapped, turn the other cheek , below we will let you know four observations which may be of great help in considering these questions.

Remarks on Turn the Other Cheek Verse

Next, once the aforementioned is taken into account, we present a brief list to know some observations about Pon la Otra Chejilla .

Number One: There is a difference between Sacrificing your Life and having it taken from you by someone else.

Scripture instructs us to “give our lives” out of love for Christ and to bear our cross (1 Jn 3:16; Mt 16:24), but you will notice that the active agent in this phrase is oneself, for there is a difference between giving your life voluntarily, to someone taking it from you. Jesus announced that he gave his life to “acquire it again”, in addition to which he went on to say: “No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of My own free will” (Jn. 10:18).

Many occasions were reported when Jesus could have allowed his life to be purchased, but he managed to escape, for “his hour had not yet come” (Jn. 7:30, 44; 10:39). We should not feel sorry for Jesus for his death, he was fulfilling a mission and for this reason, we should not feel pity, the one that comes from a complex of false martyrdom when we agree that those dangerous or unhealthy people enter our life.

It is important to be sure that, like Jesus, we find ourselves sacrificing our lives of our own volition and not because of some individuals sucking us into bad decisions.

Number Two Turn the Other Cheek: We must take up our cross, however, not all crosses

When Jesus shows us how to take up our cross daily, he uses the term of possession: «take up your cross every day and follow me (Lk. 9:23)» but, what is the Cross? the most feasible is that it will be different for each one, but you will be able to recognize it when yours arrives.

We are not able to carry every cross and burden that we discover, because as Paul tells the Galatians: “For each one will bear his own burden” (Gal. 6:5) but also, does not Paul also say in the same passage: “bear one another’s burdens” (Gal. 6:2)? Consequently, should we bear our own burdens or those of others? yes, with both.

We are called to distinguish and wisely evaluate if each of the burdens is ours so that they are then carried, will we be able to handle them? Are we part of this battle? Do I find myself getting involved just to show love or to make a point known? Do I get involved to serve others or myself?

“We are called to discern and wisely assess whether the burdens are ours to bear.”

Number Three: Jesus set boundaries and limits in his ministry

Many people disappointed in Jesus came forward, just as there were many in the back of the crowd who never got close enough to touch a bit of his command.

One interaction stands out in a young boy, who asks Jesus to resolve some legal dispute between him and his brother, to which Jesus replies “Man, who made me judge or arbitrator over you?” (Lk. 12:14), this being a very good question.

Jesus was able to understand when he was asked to do things outside of his ministry focus, for he knew his calling, just as he knew its mysteries, and he was able to protect things while being remarkably compassionate.

Number Four Turn the Other Cheek: You are just a part of the Body

In some churches, two or three people carry all the burdens, and it is quite common for a pastor to officiate most of the weddings, funerals and make hospital visits. However, some evidence within the New Testament to support this type of organizational structure is unknown; Paul mentions the Body of Christ, of which each of us are different members.

When carrying a backpack or lifting something, the weight can be distributed to many different places throughout the body, however, it is well known that one area will carry more load but the whole body will receive the pressure. In the same way you must entrust your burdens to the body that is the church.

You must entrust your burdens to your church body. You are not the only one who can visit a hospital, offer advice to a couple, or pray for the one in pain.
