I am the Way the Truth and the Life (Holy Bible)

I am the Way the Truth and the Life (Holy Bible)

One of the most revered and respected characters in the history of mankind is Jesus Christ, known by a large number of names such as the son of God, the Messiah, the Savior, the Immolated Lamb, let us learn about Jesus today through one of his most celebrate that it is I am the way the truth and the life.

I’m the way, the truth and the life

There are many prominent figures in history, some characterized by carrying out great feats that liberated a nation such as Simón Bolívar or Joan of Arc, also men who with their ideals came to perform acts that marked history in a negative way such as Hitler or those who With their inventions, they brought new advances to society, such as Albert Einstein, among many people who left a grain of sand in the history of mankind.

But among all the men and women who marked the history of society, Jesus should be highlighted, being the only man for whom history was divided into two before Christ and after Christ, the importance of Jesus lies from ancient times , where there was always talk of a savior, who would settle sin, bring salvation to humanity and reveal the greatness of heaven to his chosen ones.

Jesus represents the promise made flesh, where God himself became a man to bring salvation to humanity, nothing more and nothing less than his death and sacrifice on the cross. The curse and death entered through a known man Adam committing the sin of disobedience opened the door to a large number of consequences that humanity drags today, when Jesus died on the cross of Calvary I eradicate that curse and everyone who believes in him and in his sacrifice he will participate in that blessing.

Despite the large number of teachings, miracles, words of comfort and help to the most needy, the people who constantly looked for him to perform a miracle for them, did not recognize him as the savior of humanity and the restorer of sins, therefore , in the end they did not care that he was sacrificed and died, although it was necessary that it be so because since ancient times it is said that the Messiah would be rejected by his own people.

Before carrying out his great sacrifice, he was in charge of teaching the different teachings of heaven to people and explaining the time of grace and salvation that would come for everyone who believed, among them he was in charge of reflecting that he was the way and the truth, everyone who came to him would be saved, he would be considered a son and he would become his father, we can find this in the text of the sacred scriptures of the gospel of Saint John 14: 1-6.

Gospel of Jesus, according to John 14: 1- 6)

During the ministry of Jesus on earth, it stood out because most of his teachings were reflected through parables, being a very simple and easy to understand way of expressing himself, many people came to share and listen to this man about whom they were not very clear. who he was but they were attracted to his great wisdom. There are teachings that were exclusive to his disciples, described in the gospels of the new testament as the following stands out:

1 Let not your hearts be troubled; believe in God, believe also in me.

2 In my Father’s house there are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you; I am going to prepare a place for you.

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you to myself, so that where I am you may be also.

4 And you know where I am going, and you know the way.

5 Thomas said to him, Lord, we do not know where you are going; how, then, can we know the way?

6 Jesus said to him: I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me.

John 14: 1 – 6 (King James Version)

Context and Reflection on John 14:1-6

It is necessary to know the situation that was handled at the time of knowing the teaching given by Jesus that is described in the Gospel of Saint John chapter 14; The disciples were with Jesus in the upstairs room celebrating the Lord’s Last Supper, telling them that the lamb had to go through a sacrifice, give his life for the salvation of many and with that he explained to them that he had to leave and he would no longer be there. more with them in this world.

Due to this news his disciples did not understand where the Lord would go or when he would return, but due to that news they were immersed in deep sadness, they would no longer have that daily word of encouragement and they would no longer be participants in the miracles of the Lord, being They were convinced that Jesus was the Messiah that was spoken of in the scriptures, but they had learned to see him more than a friend and considered themselves a family, they did not understand how they would be without him now.

Because of this, Jesus realized that he had to encourage and motivate them to go forward, he knew that the time to suffer on the cross of Calvary was approaching and that they would be very moved and moved by the attacks of people and seeing the terrible sacrifice in which Jesus would be subjected. In addition, the disciples did not understand what was happening, they felt that they would be abandoned and did not know what path they would have to live from now on.

To comfort them the Lord simply expressed to them, “You already know the Way” but they were still confused and as some emotionally moved simple human men asked the Lord “How, then, can we know the Way?”. Many things had to happen that way for his word to be reflected, as in this case the skepticism of the disciples themselves to know his word, it was necessary that it be that way, just as it would be the rejection of many during the sacrifice.

As a result of this fundamental question made by Thomas, the passage described in John 14:1-6 could be made known, it is considered one of the fundamental pillars of Christianity that is well known as “I am the Way”. In these simple verses, the true path that we as Christians and as human beings have to follow can be revealed, demonstrating that Jesus is the only path to true salvation, destroying all positions of other religions, philosophies, and false gods.

 Jesus is the way

Many in life wonder what is the right path to follow or feel completely lost and disoriented, making decisions that lead to consequences. In this passage, we can see that the answer to this is by highlighting “I am the Way”, we must emphasize that he does not offer himself as a guide for the path of life or that he can be the guide of the multiple paths that lead to the heaven, but simply the way to heaven is Him.

Due to the many philosophical interpretations, this passage has been misinterpreted, giving rise to a large number of religions that have distorted the depth of the passage and also focused on other deities and other wrong paths, causing people’s faith to deviate from the path. correct, being the path of Jesus quite simple and straightforward, where only He is the path to truth and life, Jesus does not ask for sacrifice, does not ask for death and does not ask for anything only your faith.

In humanity we hear of many worships such as Buddha in the eastern regions, the Catholic Church itself offers veneration to the Virgin Mary and various saints that they have recognized, there are other types of darker beliefs such as Santeria or witchcraft where they completely move away from God and seek through invocations to spirits and the dead and endless religions that have been born over time and forgetting the key to this passage, where the only way is Jesus.

The only bridge between God and man is Christ, being the only means to be able to approach God, we must understand that when sin entered humanity through the disobedience of Adam in the Garden of Eden, death entered and broke the bond that united us with God creating a gap between man and the Father, is the main reason that many flee from God. Jesus came to restore that bridge and that path for humanity and therefore he simply expresses the path to the truth of this life.

Something that should be highlighted at this point is free will, God has always presented himself as a gentleman and will never force anyone to follow him except from the heart, always giving us the option to choose but without first giving us the opportunity to have him in our lives. But it will always reflect that the only right path is Christ. Therefore, we all have the right to follow the path we want and the one that our hearts dictate to us; be it, Freemasonry, witchcraft, Mormonism, philosophy, among others, will be respected in their belief.

There is a path that seems right to man; But the end of it is the way of death.

Jesus is the Truth

Due to the birth of so many religions, it can generate doubts and conflicts of opinion, which will lead many to ask themselves: What is the truth? Who should I believe? Due to these types of questions, many close to listen and only consider their own opinion to be true. The Lord Jesus is the only Truth, we can know that he is in charge of refuting the different philosophies that are offered in this world.

Men tend to complicate things, distorting the simple and pure to make it complex and cloudy, creating relative and half truths that do not lead to the true path of peace, due to this many philosophies were born that come from the thought of man, observing that today they are born and the years are forgotten or simply another one is born that refutes the previous one.

The search for the truth has led many men to generate many opinions that distance them from the word of God, since ancient times the various things that are about to happen have been written and over time we have seen how they have been fulfilled. One of the most outstanding is when talking about the sacrifice of the son of God, an event that took place more than 2000 years ago and where Jesus died on the cross of Calvary, giving us all the opportunity to be called children of God.

It can also reflect other great prophecies such as times of wars, deaths, diseases and also highlights the second coming of Jesus to this world, not like the previous one where he brought teaching and sacrifice but to take with him all those who believed. in it, being considered as the true church of Christ; There are a large number of prophecies that were made many years ago and over time at different times have been happening.

With all this it can be visualized that Jesus Christ is the truth and through him is that all the mysteries of life are found, being the absolute and complete truth that every person needs, therefore, let us not be wise in our own opinion when The only truth is that which comes from God, let us not allow the voices of this world to silence the voice of God in our hearts.

Jesus is the Life

Another big question that we as human beings have is what are we in this life? What is the life that I should live? But in the same sentence he tells us that Jesus is Life, being a completely spiritual meaning, where he represents God. as the creator and the giver of life but also completely eternal life, being an expression difficult to understand but completely simple in its meaning, having eternal life guarantees our path through life.

Everything starts from the moment of creation, described in the book of genesis when he created the earth and man, it stands out that at the moment of making Adam he took clay and shaped it, making it in his image and likeness but then he breathed life breath on him and at that moment man began to live (Genesis 2:7), we can understand that man had physical life but spiritual life is necessary because being the right path will lead you to eternal life.

At all times man was created for life, but the moment sin entered, it was accompanied by great consequences, the main one being death. Therefore, death is a state of sadness and pain that we are not prepared for and will never be ready to accept, because in our nature it was not made to carry out this type of experience of torture and pain, causing a feeling of loss and physical death.

As a result of this sin came physical death, but added to this, came spiritual death, being at the moment that he opened his spiritual eyes and realized that he was naked, he sought to cover himself and in addition to hiding from God when he heard him, this is the attitude of when we are spiritually dead; we hide from God and believe we are wise in our own understanding, covering our sins and covering up just as Adam and Eve did in Eden with the fig leaves.

With the coming of Christ to the world, that moment in which he died on the cross is restored, giving us the option of having life, but eternal life; spiritual life was restored the moment he rose on the third day, thereby resurrecting the spiritual life of everyone who believes in his work. To get to that point we must have communion with the Father, recognize Christ as the only true path.

No one goes to the Father except through Jesus

We must understand that there is only one mediator between God and man who is Christ, it is not the virgin, it is not the Saints, it is not the spirits, it is not the forces or the energies, it is the only true God who became man through humanity and died to wash away the sins that kept us away from the father. The only bridge is Christ, the only means to touch the heart of the father and be part of his eternal life
