Signs of baptism

Signs of baptism: meaning, he drinks and history

The term Baptism comes from the Greek and symbolizes immersion, and this is the definition that continues to have until today, the signs of baptism are based on the sacrament by which a person begins on the path of their spiritual formation, through water and supplication to the Holy Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Baptism Ceremony

The Baptism ceremony is part of one of the most significant moments for a Christian family, it is like that welcome that is given to the baby. Not only mom and dad participate in these ceremonies, but also all the members that make up the family and even acquaintances, friends and distant relatives. With baptism, the baby is received in the Church, a very short ceremony is performed, it is the celebration for the birth of the baby and its initiation is done through baptism.

For many, performing the baptism represents the presentation of the baby before God and it is for this reason that at the end of the ceremony the relatives celebrate in a private meeting, with friends and acquaintances. The church announced that the matter of Baptism was considered as a dogma of the faith, it is the way Jesus arranged it and in the same way the apostles did it.

This conceptualization is given due to the need to discuss the doctrine left by Luther, in which it was said that any type of liquid could be used, he left us a kind of argument that could prove thesis: “although we know water it is capable of washing every surface, and this makes it the indicated matter by which we can wash our bodies of sin. Without leaving behind the fact that it can be found anywhere, it is precisely this that makes it important, for the sacrament water is the matter of reason.

  • Representation of Baptism

Baptism is not just a personal issue, because when it is carried out it is capable of moving the entire Christian society, it represents the manifestation of the newborn’s admission to religion led by parents and godparents.

  • hear the word

We must listen to the word of God, it is known that each person listens and makes the interpretation according to them, but it is not only about listening but about receiving the word of God in our hearts in order to be blessed. If there is something that we should ask from the bosom, it is the strength so that it comes to life in our hearts and to make it live in daily life.

  • offerings of faith

For the entire Christian association, the celebration establishes a dialogue between God, the father, the baby, and faith, accompanied by the godmother and godfather if it is a child, but if it is an adult, it is only the baptized person who accompanies him. These are the offerings of the baptism:

    1. “Do you therefore renounce sin to live in the freedom of the children of God?” – “Yes, I resign”.
    2. “Do you believe in God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit?” – “Yes I believe”.
